Marvin, Jason and Danny's trip to Malaysia! (Naveen's trip to PJ)

So..Here's an update on the guys' trip to Malaysia( which might encourage others to come? haha).
Marvin and Jason came on Monday( 16 April 07') from Bangkok.Yan Ming picked the guys up from the LCCT Airport while I was still in my IT class( chatting with Danny.haha).If I'm not mistaken, YM drove them to the church for them to unpack and all. They settled down by playing Skip Bo? haha.Skip Bo( as mentioned by YM) : The official game of Payap Christian Zone and adopted by people who went there. The guys are more into table tennis though.haha.

Marvin Krause from Melbourne, Australia

Jason Miller from Austin(Texas), USA

Marvin came down to renew his visa while visiting Malaysia. He's going to extend his stay in Chiangmai.Jason came along.I envy them so much! - Interns in Payap Christian Zone for such a long time and gets to travel so often.
Well..back to the topic.Since I was still in class when they arrived, I had no idea what happened during then.So I'm just going to copy and paste some of YM's post.

"First few comments i got from them at the LCCT was, " where's THE CITY!??" everywhere is just palm oil plantation, so much greenery!! we're out in nowhere!" i was abit late and they walked around the airport and was also worried cause the airport seemed so small." - YM

After class I called YM and asked what were they doing.I wasn't suprise that YM brought them to Sri Paandi for lunch.Only the best Banana Leaf Rice around.I personally prefer the original Sri Paandi though. No suprise again that..Marvin and Jason both love the food! I mean who doesn't?!
After class I met up with them in Taman Jaya LRT station.I brought all my stuff along which includes my books, stationaries, shirts( as I was staying over in the church with them for the night) etc.I was in my formal attire.I have to wear formal attire for my classes. We took LRT to Ampang Park and walked to the Thai Embassy to renew Marvin's visa.Yes..in my formal attire.haha.Guess what? visa application in the Thai Embassy closes at 11:30pm.We were all dissapointed. Then we decided to go to Twin Tower.Yes..by foot.We got dissapointed again as we cant go up to the Skybridge.Actually Marvin was the only one that was really dissapointed. He was planning to sneak up somehow which I told him that it was impossible.
We walked a little in Suria KLCC and I decided to let them try 'Rotiboy'.They love it.Then we decided to head to Petaling Street/Chinatown.Before we went to Chinatown, I decided to change into a more comfortable attire. It was difficult to change in the toilet but I did.

Once we reached the Pasar Seni station, we showed them 'Klang River' which looks like a sewer thingy with 'Teh Tarik' flowing down. But Klang River is super long..and somehow it passes the sewer area.
We were looking at the river for almost 10-15 minutes. Why? haha.We were trying to drag the time as Admen was actually going to meet us there and so he did.Marvin got shocked when Admen grabbed him from the back.haha.We walked around Chinatown for about 30minutes.We only bought a drink each and Admen bought a magnet thingy for RM10.We head back to church after that.We hang around at church and learned a Thai word from Jason which reads "Bot Khee".I'm not going to tell what it means though.haha.
Then we went to Midvalley Mall mainly because we want to play pool.We had our dinner there then we played pool for an hour then head back to church late.We played Skip Bo while Marvin was in bed.Jason followed after that. After 6 rounds, we called it a night.

The following day, we woke up early for breakfast before heading to the Thai Embassy. We thought we could just go in and out in a second but we were SO wrong! The line itself was like the usual KL traffic.
We have no choice but to wait..there's no waiting area.Roadside was the only choice.

Jason decided to do so

Then I joined him as well. *what an expression*

YM fell asleep while waiting for Marvin

YM with the *why are you guys sitting on the walkway* facial expression.Marvin found a new friend it seems.haha.

While waiting for Marvin we hang around the walkway and played cards. We witnessed an accident too.Thank God it was not a serious one.

Then we went to Astrodome in Summit to play futsal with my friends. We waited for 1 and a half hour to get into Astrodome.Stupid Stupid Astrodome..Of all days?!
The game was fun though.Jason and Marvin is so good. They're like professional futsal players.
I went back home after that though because I have classes on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

As I've heard..They went to the Skybridge, Batu Caves, Wangsa Maju COC and Uncle Gan's house within two days.I have pictures though :

If I'm not mistaken..This is the place where they'll wait before going up to the Skybridge.

"Can't wait to be out there!"

"Take pictures! take take.Fast!"

"Now take our picture=)"

Batu Caves :

I've never been to Batu Caves.haha.

Wangsa Maju COC.I think.

Uncle Gan's(the guy standing up) house.Again I think.

Jason always gets excited about Chinese food.haha.

There goes Jason again :

and Marvin :

*feeling young all over again*haha.put len na.

And they play futsal again.

I met them again after class on Friday.Thankfully my sister drove me to the church this time.Danny reached KL early that morning. "Sorry Danny that YM overslept!".Poor guy.haha.
He look so different now.
We played futsal again on Friday afternoon..this time with YM's friends. We all couldn't last long.We were all tired!
Then we head back to church to clean up and get ready for our Bible class. We walk down to the chicken rice shop for dinner. On the way..we saw this beautiful sunset from the overhead bridge..

there's actually more pictures of the sunset but I'm lazy to post them all and Jason should have nicer pictures. He ran back to the church to get his camera.haha.

I took some non-related pic just for fun.haha.

After Bible study..we went to play DOTA.I'm not a Dota kind of person but I went along with the guys. Then we 'Yam Cha' and all..we came back around 4am then I played Skip Bo with Danny while everyone else was snoring..owh..except Marvin. He was packing his bag before he came down to chat with us.Then I went on to sleep for 15 minutes.haha.

We sent Jason and Marvin off to KL Sentral for them to catch a shuttle bus straight to LCCT Airport at 5+ in the morning :

the *early morning pose*

group pic.Camera man : Danny.haha.

Goodbye for now!

Till the next time...

As for Danny he stayed till Sunday after worship..We played lots of Phase10 which is a card game too.I love it! we can't get it here in Malaysia. We didn't take lots of pictures but If you want a picture of Danny..Here goes :

haha.

Owh Yea..Somehow during this trip I realised that Marvin and Jason poses for pictures the way I usually( as in I started adopting the pose ) pose for pictures which is showing the Peace sign backwards.

to be exact..Marvin prefer the 'west side' style.
Jason still with the peace thingy.
Peace Bro!
See you guys soon!

"Angkor of Faith" ( Part.2 )

*Siem Reap International Airport.

We've missed the morning devotion and activities as my Malaysian team's the last to arrive on the 13th of March. We had a first hand experience of the Cambodian 'tuk-tuk' which is different from those of Thailand.By the way..There's only THREE traffic light in the whole of Siem Reap.THREE! Report to me if you manage to count the exact ammount of traffic lights in Selangor( Malaysia), Geylang( Singapore), Chiangmai( Thailand) or Sendai( Japan).hahaha.

By the way, we went to our guesthouse which is called 'Bakong Lodge Bar/Restaurant'.It was much much much more better than what I had in mind.We were ready for lunch upon arriving at our guesthouse. And so we were divided into our International Groups for lunch( after waiting for everyone who arrived earlier to meet in 'Bakong'.Well..I was hungry! - Just look at the picture below ) and for most of the discussions and activities for the week.

*I'm hungry for Cambodia!! haha.

My International Group - Jonathan, Judith, Hikaru( Japan), Mabel, Veronica, Jia ni, Aaron Wong( Singapore), Oan( Thailand) and Reagan( Malaysia).haha.

What I like about camps like this is the fact that we always have and immediate connection or bond for ( insert time period here) a week in my case.

In the evening of the same day, we went to 'Tonle Sap'.Having only read it in my Geography book, I'm excited to be there myself."The largest lake in Southeast Asia and I'm going to be there!" I said to myself.

*On the way to 'Tonle Sap'.The bus ride itself was fun, just like an amusement park or something as the road was bumpy.haha.

*The boat that we were in around 'Tonle Sap'.That's 'Princess Neung' walking towards it.Look at the treatment she gets.LoL.haha.

*The excitement didn't last long once I saw 'Teh Tarik' everywhere. As much as I like 'Teh Tarik'..I wouldn't like it that way.

*But that wouldn't distract me from enjoying the floating buildings that I really liked so much! The have a school, basketball court, police station, some politic's party building, houses( with a mini garden ), some halls and the best part of it is..All of them looks like its floating. And guess what? there's a church too!

*That's me in the white shirt and red cap.

*Kids who looked like they're walking on water is really cool too!

*Those are the people in my boat.Bay and I were posing in the third picture( on the left ).No idea what kind of pose it is though. At least we had fun!=)
*Random pictures of 'Tonle Sap'.

*That's the souvenir shop with an 'Aligator farm' signboard because...

*Marvin : Hey mates, get a good look at tonight's dinner!

Jenny : I want that BIG one! 'Aroi maak!'( Very delicious!)

*There are kids selling drinks and bananas for $1 all around 'Tonle Sap' in their 'sampan' and they're good. Some even climbed up our boat to sell to us.So exciting! haha.

'Tonle Sap' is such a beautiful place! A lake that looked like an ocean.

"Tonle Sap"

Reagan : I've been there! haha.

Please note that I'm not going to write every single thing that I did from day to day but I'm going to write in a basic way of the events that happened.

The Devotion that night was " Lord, I want to know you more" which was infact our theme and there's a song to that too.
