"Angkor of Faith" Mission Camp!
Siem Reap, Cambodia 13-19 March 2007

The camp is actually called 'SOS' camp which means "Share Our Story" & 'Sing to His Glory'!
The camp is from 13-19 March and the rest is up to us to decide. Some stayed in Siem Reap for an extra day and the rest head down to Pnhom Penh.I'm 'the rest'.The Malaysian team which is my team stayed in Cambodia for a total of 7 days.Which means I came back on 20th March.

We had a total of 70 people of 8 nations coming together for this camp.

Credit goes to Kevin and Kenneth for preparing the songbooks with everyone's name and picture.

Before Cambodia

P'Jenny did a great job writing about her "Before Cambodia" experience in Payap's Website and Shoulder to Shoulder to Asia.
As for my before Cambodia experience. This may actually sound a little sad to some of you..or.. maybe not.haha.I was supposed to be up in Chiangmai, Thailand.Just one click away from booking the ticket. Then my father somehow thinks that I should get my driving license and work first. So the possibility of going to Chiangmai was ruled out.At least for now.I'll be back someday.
As I was blog hopping one day and came to the MIC blog, Marvin mentioned something about a Cambodia trip. Then I somehow recalled something.I asked Uncle Chong Fatt about it and he said "no news about it so far".I wasn't content with the answer, so I sent out emails to P'Robert to get some information about it.I was glad that he sent all the information to Uncle Chong Fatt. That's how we started our "journey to Cambodia".
My dad gave a green light.I'm happy that my family has been very supportive of me going for mission trips.
It was great that we've been able to share some of the Sinclair's experience as missionaries.Ken and Estelle Sinclair is conducting a 13 week seminar on mission in Petaling Jaya Church of Christ.Though we only had 3 classes before the Cambodia trip, we actually did learnt alot from it.

Mission 101
: The streets of Siem Reap, Cambodia are filled with children trying to

earn money by selling postcards, books, pictures, etc. Most tourists will
probably feel bothered by the constant nagging of these children and just

want to get away from them. But we are going to Siem Reap to be with

these kids
, to listen to them, to play interactive group games with them, to
treat them as Jesus Christ would treat them.Plant seed of faith that

will hopefully grow into anchors of faith for these street kids near Angkor Wat!

Share Our Story & Sing to His Glory!

To hear and to be heard. Hearing the faith stories of others is a powerful way to strengthen our own faith in Jesus Christ. Also, when we open up our lives and share our faith stories with others, we feel they understand us better. What a great way for this international group to come together and bless one another. This will challenge and uplift our faith and spur us on towards love and good deeds for Christ. We will also be greatly blessed by combining all the wonderful voices together in praise to Jesus Christ. We will have special training in singing four-part harmony. Having the Sendai, Japan team and their great voices with us will be a special treat for us all.

And so..the journey begins!

Joum Reap-Souy! which is like "Hello" in Khmer ( Cambodian National Language! )

SuSu Dae! for people you met more than once / close ones!

To be continued..
